About the Creators

Karina Yan Glaser (she/her) is a Chinese-American author, former teacher, and former employee of New York City’s largest provider of transitional housing for homeless families, where she taught literacy to young people living in a Bronx shelter, an experience that inspired A Duet for Home. She speaks a little Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, and French, having grown up in a Cantonese-speaking household (her parents grew up in Hong Kong). She also majored in Asian Studies in college, where she was required to take Mandarin five times a week. She loves books and is a contributing editor for Book Riot and co-host of the Kidlit These Days podcast.

Felicia Chen (she/her) is a Chinese-American visual development artist and illustrator currently living in California and working at DreamWorks Animation. She speaks English and Mandarin, and did the cover art for A Duet for Home.
